‘Portrait of an artist’: a painting masterclass

In this artist-led workshop, explore different methods of the Old Master painters and choose a master painting to copy. You will use a grisaille or wipe out underpainting, and then build it up in layers. You will learn about values, creating a value scale and how warm and cool colours are used for light and shadow. Finally, you will discover how to reproduce some of the effects of oil painting in acrylic.
